Look at the buffalo and helmet: a standing bison is 1962-73 or a throwback from 2005 on, the charging buffalo on a white helmet is 1974-83, on a red helmet 1984 on, and dark navy with gray points to 2002 or later.

  • NFL Pro Line labels on official sideline-style apparel; the program was running by 1994.
  • The NFL 75th anniversary patch: every team wore it on jerseys in 1994, and teams wore throwbacks in selected games that season.
  • Retail throwbacks: the NFL Throwbacks Collection launched in 1991, so an old-looking design can be a 90s reissue.
