Frequently

asked.

Are the listings on a collection page sold prices or live listings?

Live listings. On launch collections we capture the active eBay listings on a given date, show a selection with prices and shipping, and say which ones we would buy. The capture date is printed next to them, and some will have sold or ended since. The "See all current listings" link always opens the live search.

How snapshots work →

Where do the price ranges come from?

On collections with a market snapshot, the typical ask is where most of the captured asking prices cluster, and the full range is the lowest to highest we saw. On other collections the price tag is a rough estimate by era and garment type, not an appraisal. Condition, size and the player or graphic move a real piece around inside it.

Is that photo of the actual sweatshirt or jersey for sale?

No. The large photo on a launch collection is a representative image generated by an AI model from real seller photos, and it is labelled that way. Judge any listing by the seller's own photos, especially the tag and the print.

How we make the photos →

How do I tell if a piece is really from the 80s or 90s?

Start with the tag: the maker, the country of manufacture, and any NFL licensing labels narrow the window. Then check the team's logo and uniform for that year, and any copyright date on the print. Our tag-dating guide walks through each maker.

How do I avoid reproductions?

Modern retro lines and throwbacks are made to look old. Their tags, fabric and print quality usually give them away, and many listings say "vintage style" or "retro" in small print. Ask for photos of the tag and the inside of the print before you bid.

What size should I buy?

Ignore the tag size and compare measurements. Ask the seller for pit-to-pit and length in inches, and measure something you already own that fits the way you like.

Does Secondhand Archive sell anything or earn from the links?

No. We point to other people's listings on eBay with plain links and earn nothing from them. Purchases happen on eBay, between you and the seller.

I have a vintage NFL sweatshirt or jersey to sell. Can I sell it to you?

Yes. Every collection page has a "Have one to sell?" link to allbutnew's offer form. Send photos of the front, the tag and any flaws, plus measurements, and you will get an offer or a straight no by email.
