Dating Cowboys gear

Look at the dark jersey: gray white-trimmed numbers point to 1981-94, while a star on the sleeve stripes means 1996 or later. Double-star jerseys come from 1994-95 or later throwback games.

1990s tells

  • NFL Pro Line labels on official sideline-style apparel; the program was running by 1994.
  • The NFL 75th anniversary patch: every team wore it on jerseys in 1994, and teams wore throwbacks in selected games that season.
  • Retail throwbacks: the NFL Throwbacks Collection launched in 1991, so an old-looking design can be a 90s reissue.
