Vintage 2000s Broncos

sweatshirts.

Vintage 2000s Denver Broncos sweatshirts, from the Post-Elway years (2000–2009). Jake Plummer gets them to the AFC title game after the '05 season. Shanahan is gone after '08.

What dates a piece to the 2000s: Reebok and NFL Equipment tags from 2002, no Pro Player after 2001, eight-star NFL shield from 2008, tighter short-sleeve jerseys, offshore-made. Royal blue with orange and the D-with-horse logo means 1968-96. Navy with the horse-head profile means 1997 or later. NO. 02 · WHAT TO LOOK FOR
  • Pro Player tags stop by 2001, when the brand was liquidated. Original Starter-company pieces predate its 1999 bankruptcy.
  • The NFL shield: the 2008 redesign cut the stars from 25 to eight and changed the lettering, so an eight-star shield means 2008 or later.
  • Tighter cuts and shorter sleeves from about 2000, with sleeve stripes cut short (Steelers in 2000, Colts in 2002).
  • Read the tag first: maker, country of origin and fiber content. A Made in USA tag fits the 80s and early 90s better than the 2000s.
  • Match the graphics to the team's timeline. The logo, colors and city name should all fit the era the seller claims.

How can I tell a 2000s Broncos sweatshirt is original and not a modern reissue?

Start with the tag: the maker and the country of manufacture should fit the 2000s, and a licensed piece usually names the NFL or the team on a label. Then check that the logo, wordmark and colors match what the Broncos used in those years. Modern retro and throwback lines copy old graphics but use current tags, so a tag photo settles most questions.

Why does this page mention Bailey?

Bailey wore #24 in the Post-Elway years (2000–2009). Jake Plummer gets them to the AFC title game after the '05 season. Shanahan is gone after '08. Player numbers and names from a team's best-known years are the ones most often printed and sewn on fan gear, so they turn up most in secondhand listings.

How does a vintage sweatshirt fit?

Vintage sweatshirts were cut differently from today's, and cotton blends shrink with washing, so the tag size is only a hint. Compare the seller's pit-to-pit and length measurements with a sweatshirt you own.
