Vintage 2000s Falcons

jerseys.

Michael Vick (#7) played for Atlanta from 2001 to 2006, and his jerseys define the Falcons' 2000s. They come in two looks. Vick's 2001 and 2002 seasons were played in the 1990-era design: black or white jerseys, with red numbers on the white. In 2003 the team unveiled a sharper falcon logo shaped like a capital F, red trim down the sides and a red alternate jersey, and in 2004 red became the primary home jersey.

Other names include Warrick Dunn (#28, 2002–07), Roddy White (#84) from 2005 and Matt Ryan (#2) from 2008. Nike made the on-field jerseys in 2000 and Reebok from 2001. From 2002 Reebok held the NFL's exclusive jersey license through the 2011 season.

From Oct 3, 2026 listings

558 Falcons jerseys turn up in a Reebok search, most at $35–65 delivered, and the large majority are Michael Vick #7 from his 2001–06 Atlanta years, with Roddy White, Warrick Dunn and Alge Crumpler further down. Reebok is the right label for the decade, as the NFL's sole jersey supplier from 2002 to 2011: a plain replica has screen-printed numbers, Premier is stitched, and the Authentic has sewn numbers and a numeric size (48 = L, 52 = XL, 56 = XXL). Ask for a tag photo, pit-to-pit and close-ups of the numbers, and skip Nike or 'NFL Team Apparel' tags, which mean a post-2012 jersey. Red flags: a plain Vick in XL at about $163 on Buy It Now, nearly triple the band top, and two listings, including a 'sewn' Roddy White, whose seller feedback wasn't captured. Budget buyers should take the $26 white Vick in XL, first-time buyers the $49 Vick in Large, and collectors the On-Field Vick at about $85 once the tag confirms which tier it is.

NO. 03 · WHAT TO LOOK FOR
  • Black vs red: a black home jersey with no side trim is from 2001–02 or earlier. A red home jersey with side trim is 2004 on; red first appeared as a 2003 alternate, when black also became the alternate.
  • 2003 logo: the redesigned falcon with red and silver accents means 2003 or later.
  • Collar shield: Reebok-era jerseys from 2002 carry the "NFL Equipment" version of the NFL shield at the collar. Nike replaced it with a redesigned shield in 2012.
  • Reebok labels: Reebok made the Falcons' on-field jerseys from 2001 and held the league-wide exclusive for authentic and replica jerseys from 2002 to 2011, so nearly every licensed Falcons jersey of the decade is Reebok.
  • 2009 throwbacks: the Falcons wore 1966-style throwbacks from 2009 to 2012. A jersey in that style with a Reebok label is from those seasons, not the 60s.
  • Make sure the maker, the era and the design agree. A label from a company that did not make that team's gear in that period, or a design detail from a later season, means the jersey is newer or not what it claims to be.
NO. 04 · REPRODUCTIONS & BOOTLEGS
  • The 2020 redesign added "ATL" above the numbers, so the 2003–19 style now sells as retro. Nike made that style from 2012 to 2019; check for a Reebok label and the "NFL Equipment" shield if you want a 2000s piece.
  • Vick later played for the Eagles, Jets and Steelers. Make sure the listing's photos show Falcons branding and a Reebok-era label, not just #7.
  • Customized jerseys: a blank Reebok jersey with numbers added later can look right in photos. Check that the number application matches the rest of the jersey and the labels.
  • Mitchell & Ness sells its NFL Legacy and Authentic throwbacks in numeric sizes (36 S, 40 M, 44 L, 48 XL, 52 2XL, 56 3XL), so a numeric size on its own does not prove a jersey is old.

NO. 05 · SIZING

Most Falcons jerseys from the decade are Reebok. Reebok made every licensed NFL jersey from 2002 through 2011, but tag sizes can still run differently between jerseys, so don't rely on the letter size alone. Ask for pit-to-pit (armpit to armpit, laid flat) and back length from collar to hem, and compare them with a jersey you own. Tagged sizes vary by maker and era, and many listings are mis-sized.

Black or red Vick jersey: which is older?

Black. Vick's first two seasons, 2001 and 2002, were played in the black-and-white design with no side trim. The red jersey arrived as an alternate in 2003 and became the primary home jersey in 2004, with black then used as the alternate.

Is a 2000s Reebok jersey vintage?

It is the defining jersey of the era. Reebok made every licensed NFL jersey from 2002 through 2011, so a Reebok label with the "NFL Equipment" collar shield places a jersey in that window.

Whose jerseys are these?

Michael Vick (#7, 2001–06) above all, plus Warrick Dunn (#28, 2002–07), Roddy White (#84, from 2005) and Matt Ryan (#2, from 2008). Ryan and White played well into the Nike era, so check the label.

How do I tell a 2000s jersey from a newer retro?

Check the label and the collar. Reebok plus the "NFL Equipment" shield means 2002–11. Nike plus the newer shield means 2012 or later, even if the design matches the Vick era.
