Vintage 1990s Raiders

jerseys.

The Raiders played the 1990–94 seasons in Los Angeles and moved back to Oakland for 1995. The uniform did not change: the silver-and-black design from 1963, with black home jerseys and silver numbers, and white road jerseys with black numbers outlined in silver. Because the look is the same in both cities, the maker's label and any patches date the jersey, not the design.

Tim Brown (#81) spans the whole decade. Marcus Allen (#32) left after 1992, Bo Jackson (#34) after 1990 and Howie Long (#75) after 1993. On-field jerseys were Wilson in 1991, Starter from 1992 to 1995 and Nike from 1996, per the Gridiron Uniform Database. Champion and Starter made the retail replicas.

Which one to buy

From Oct 3, 2026 listings

369 Raiders jerseys are listed for the 90s, most at $40–80 delivered, covering the Los Angeles years (through 1994) and Oakland from 1995. Tim Brown is the name that lifts prices; Starter, Champion, Logo 7 and Wilson replicas are common, while a Nike Pro Line Authentic (sewn numbers, numeric size) asks about $195. Check the player against the date and maker: Charles Woodson arrived in 1998, so a Puma Woodson is late-90s but a Reebok one is 2002 or later. Red flags: a Wilson Tim Brown whose title is copied word for word from another seller's cheaper listing, and a CCM fashion jersey from a seller whose feedback wasn't captured. Budget buyers should take the $28 Starter Hostetler in 52, first-time buyers the $57 Starter Tim Brown, and collectors the Nike Authentic, ideally for less than asking.

NO. 03 · WHAT TO LOOK FOR
  • Same design in both cities: LA and Oakland jerseys look alike, so date by maker and patches. The team returned to Oakland for the 1995 season.
  • On-field maker by year: Wilson (1991), Starter (1992–95), Nike (1996–99). A Nike on-field-style jersey fits only the Oakland years.
  • 1994 throwback: for the NFL's 75th season the Raiders wore white jerseys with silver numbers and black names (their 1970 road look), with the diamond 75th Anniversary patch. A silver-number white jersey is not the standard 90s road jersey.
  • Player dates: Bo Jackson played for the Raiders from 1987 to 1990 and Marcus Allen through 1992, both in Los Angeles. Tim Brown played for the team from 1988 to 2003, so his jerseys span both cities.
  • NFL shield at the collar: on-field jerseys gained a small NFL shield at the bottom of the collar in 1991, so its presence or absence helps date a piece to before or after that season.
  • Champion made replica jerseys for every NFL team from the 1980s until 2000, and Starter made replicas for all teams from 1992 to 1998. These retail replicas are the most common 90s jerseys you will find.
  • Make sure the maker, the era and the design agree. A label from a company that did not make that team's gear in that period, or a design detail from a later season, means the jersey is newer or not what it claims to be.
NO. 04 · REPRODUCTIONS & BOOTLEGS
  • Mitchell & Ness has made football throwbacks since 2000. They copy classic designs closely but carry the Mitchell & Ness name on the labels, so check every tag before trusting the design. Mitchell & Ness sells Raiders throwbacks under both Los Angeles and Oakland names.
  • Since 2016 the Raiders have worn a white jersey with silver numbers, first as their Color Rush uniform. It resembles the 1994 throwback but carries Nike labels and the NFL shield design used since 2012.
  • Because the design has barely changed since 1963, Reebok (2002–11) and Nike jerseys look like 90s ones in photos. Ask for close-ups of every label and the collar.
  • Mitchell & Ness sells its NFL Legacy and Authentic throwbacks in numeric sizes (36 S, 40 M, 44 L, 48 XL, 52 2XL, 56 3XL), so a numeric size on its own does not prove a jersey is old.

NO. 05 · SIZING

Tag sizes can differ between makers such as Champion, Starter and the on-field suppliers, so treat the tag as a starting point. Ask for pit-to-pit (armpit to armpit, laid flat) and back length from collar to hem, and compare them with a jersey you own. Tagged sizes vary by maker and era, and many listings are mis-sized.

Is my Raiders jersey from the LA or Oakland years?

The design will not tell you. Check the maker: Wilson (1991) and Starter (1992–95) on-field labels fit the Los Angeles years, while Nike (1996–99) fits Oakland. Player tenure helps too: Bo Jackson and Marcus Allen were LA-only Raiders.

Why does this white Raiders jersey have silver numbers?

The regular 90s road jersey has black numbers outlined in silver. Silver numbers on white were the 1994 throwback for the NFL's 75th season, and the style returned in 2016 on modern Nike jerseys. A 1994 piece should also carry the diamond 75th Anniversary patch.

Wilson, Starter, Nike or Champion?

Wilson made the on-field jerseys in 1991, Starter from 1992 to 1995 and Nike from 1996 to 1999. Champion (through 2000) and Starter (1992–98) made the retail replicas most fans bought. Any of them fits the decade if the details agree.

How do I tell a 90s original from a Mitchell & Ness?

Read every label. Mitchell & Ness has made football throwbacks since 2000 and puts its own name on the tags, and it sells them in numeric sizes (44 is a large), so a numeric size is not a sign of age. Then check the details against the year the jersey claims to be from: the collar shield, any patches and the design changes listed above.
